Perl 6 Book, etc on Sat Jun 28 01:07:14 2003

Disclaimer: I am posting this due to the complete lack of news posts for the entire month.

The first Perl 6 book has shown up (Perl 6 Essentials) and is now availible. I just ordered it yesterday :D.

I'm also attempting a rewrite of mnews, trying to make it less of a hack. The current script is so much a hack... and impossible to read (for anyone besides me). This time around i am going to use a real templating system... and trying to modularize the code while keeping its readable... Don't expect to see anything for a year. :) I would still like to know what people would want done with this site... obviously it isn't right now. Perhaps i might allow more people to post news articles. Please post some suggestions unlike every other thread i've posted about this.

if you need something urgent your best bet is e-mail of all things. Since I will check it at work as well as home.

I am also in other channels on efnet, use your best judgment before joining one and trying to talk with me. (hint: programming channels you are not gonna get a response)

With my recent discovery of a possible Half-Life 2... I came up with a theory.

If they were to release Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and Duke Nukem Forever all at once, it would put the economy on track for recovery! Just think about it... every nerd with any gamer in them would be forced to buy all 3 as well as a new computer to run the games.

Some tech stocks go up.. people start having more faith in the stock market... and BAM! It all works out!

What do you think? Fuck you if you disagree it'll work.
